PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A North Philadelphia man accused of fatally shooting the mother of his child has been arrested after a multi-agency manhunt, the U.S. Marshals Service announced.
Deputy marshals, working with Philadelphia police and agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, arrested 25-year-old Quamir Jones, known by the alias “YP Slumboy,” in the 200 block of East Mermaid Lane. Authorities say Jones had been on the run since October 12, when he allegedly shot and killed his child’s mother in the 7300 block of Dicks Avenue.
Investigators identified Jones as a member of the “Blumberg” gang, a group based in North Philadelphia linked to violent crimes and drug activity. Officials said he was considered armed and dangerous during the search, which involved extensive coordination among local and state agencies.
Jones was taken into custody without incident and is now facing murder and weapons charges. Authorities have not released the victim’s name publicly pending notification of family members.
