PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A New Jersey teenager wanted for attempted murder was arrested in South Philadelphia this week after a coordinated operation by the U.S. Marshals Service, officials announced.
Deputy marshals captured 18-year-old Kingkamau Nantambu, known by the alias “King,” in the 1500 block of South 30th Street. Authorities say Nantambu, a resident of Pleasantville, New Jersey, was wanted by the Pleasantville Police Department in connection with a July 21 shooting that left one victim critically injured.
Investigators allege Nantambu is affiliated with the “6Way” street gang, a criminal group based in southern New Jersey. Officials said the arrest followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance in both states after tips placed the suspect in the Philadelphia area.
Nantambu was taken into custody without incident and is being held pending extradition to New Jersey. Federal authorities credited interagency cooperation for the safe apprehension, noting that violent fugitive cases involving gang activity often span multiple jurisdictions.
Pleasantville police confirmed that the shooting investigation remains active, with additional suspects possibly under review. Nantambu is expected to face attempted murder and weapons-related charges once returned to Atlantic County.
