Baltimore man arrested in 2024 East Chase Street murder
Baltimore, MD – More than a year after a fatal Southeast Baltimore shooting, police have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the case, bringing closure to a long-running homicide investigation.
Javon Rivers of Baltimore was taken into custody on Saturday in the 2100 block of Harmen Avenue by Warrant Apprehension detectives. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first-degree murder.

The arrest stems from the December 18, 2024 shooting death of 31-year-old Donte Bazemore, who was gunned down in the 2600 block of East Chase Street. Baltimore Police had been investigating the homicide since that date, but no arrests had been made publicly until now.
Officials did not release details about a possible motive or whether Rivers and Bazemore knew each other.
