A neighbor’s early-morning 911 call led deputies to a Cudjoe Key home where a woman was found gravely injured amid what investigators described as widespread bloodshed, and her husband now faces a murder charge.
CUDJOE KEY, FL – Bradly Shawn Shadduck, 56, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his wife, 62-year-old Lynne Alane Shadduck, after deputies responded to a residence on Maracaibo Lane and discovered what authorities said was a violent scene throughout the home. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the victim later died at Lower Keys Medical Center.
According to an arrest report, deputies were dispatched just before 6 a.m. after a neighbor called 911 at Shadduck’s request. The neighbor told dispatchers Shadduck arrived at his door “with a Cleveland Browns blanket and no clothes on” and said, “call 911, dude; my f—ing whole house is full of blood, covered everywhere with blood, say it, will be there.”
Inside the home, deputies reported extensive signs of a struggle, with “blood and blood smears” across floors and a “large pool of blood” in the living room. The victim was found naked in a hallway, covered in blood and bruises, unconscious but still breathing.
Scene inside the home
Investigators documented what they described as a chaotic and violent interior. “There was blood throughout the entire residence, from the front door there was bloody hand smears along with pools of blood on the floor in the main living area,” the report states. “The main hallway had a bloody smear on the floor as if the victim was dragged down the hallway to the bathroom. The bathroom with the toilet and the tub/shower combo all had dried blood on or around each of these.”
Deputies also noted the home was “in complete disarray,” with multiple items broken and scattered. The report concluded there had been “a significant fight and struggle for the victim,” while noting the defendant did not appear to have any injuries.
Statements and surveillance evidence
When first questioned, Shadduck allegedly told deputies, “This just happened,” and repeatedly said his wife needed help but did not provide further details. During a later interview, he told detectives the couple had “food and lots of drinks” the night before and claimed the condition of the home was due to “rough sex.”
“Bradly said that when he drinks, he passes out and doesn’t remember anything,” a deputy wrote in the charging document. “Bradly doesn’t remember going to his neighbor’s home asking for help. Bradly then asked for a lawyer.”
Surveillance footage cited in the report shows Shadduck going to a neighbor’s home to request the 911 call and that he “appears to be wet and possibly just took a shower.” In another video recorded earlier, he is seen at a different neighbor’s home around 4 a.m., “breathing heavily” and attempting to enter a passcode before banging on doors and windows for several minutes.
“Bradly at this time is shirtless and wearing a light-colored pair of shorts,” the report states. “Bradly is heard breathing heavily and attempts to open the front door by entering a passcode, but was unsuccessful. Bradly is seen banging on the windows and doors for approximately (two to three) minutes. Bradly is then seen grabbing the railing with both hands and shaking it.”
Investigators said bloody prints were later found on that railing with the homeowner’s consent.
Shadduck is being held without bond at the Monroe County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court June 5. Court records indicate he has prior boating and traffic infractions but no other criminal history in Monroe County.
