For Toms River Fire Officials, Work Didn’t Stop After the Flames Ended

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Toms River Fire Officials’ work at the recent townhome fire in the community didn’t stop after the last flames were put out. In fact, their work was just beginning.

The Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention is delighted to report the successful conclusion of a critical operation that allowed residents of the Fairways community, impacted by a recent fire incident, to retrieve their personal belongings from their homes. The primary goal of this operation was to facilitate the safe and organized retrieval of essential possessions for the affected residents.

This operation was a collaborative effort, bringing together all 6 volunteer fire companies within Toms River, along with the Toms River Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. The utmost priority during the process was the safety of the residents and personnel involved, and stringent safety protocols were adhered to at all times.

“As the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention, our mission extends beyond fire prevention to include community support and engagement. We remain committed to working hand in hand with residents to enhance safety measures, promote fire education, and foster a resilient community spirit,” the agency said today.

The fire, which was ruled accidental, started by a faulty dishwasher displaced about twenty local families.
