Gas N Goods becomes gold mine with $31K lottery win

ROCHESTER, NY — A lucky TAKE 5 player scored a $31,641 top prize in the May 22 evening drawing, with the winning ticket sold at a local Rochester convenience store.

The ticket was purchased at GAS N GOODS, located at 1269 Chili Avenue. The store joins a growing list of New York Lottery retailers celebrating top-prize wins this month.

TAKE 5 is a twice-daily draw game where players choose five numbers from a field of one through 39. Drawings are held at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. each day. Players must match all five numbers to win the top prize, which varies based on ticket sales and the number of winners.

Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. The winning numbers for the May 22 evening draw were not disclosed at the time of the announcement.

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.8 billion to education in the state during fiscal year 2023–2024.
