SOMERS POINT, N.J. – A German Shepherd was found Saturday in the area of Kapella Avenue and Bay Avenue in Somers Point, and local police are working to locate the animal’s owner. The Somers Point Police Department shared the information on its official Facebook page shortly after the dog was brought to their attention.
The dog appeared calm and was photographed resting indoors while officers sought assistance from the community. Authorities have not released additional details about how long the dog had been loose or whether it was wearing identification.

In its public notice, the department said, “Found in the area of Kapella and Bay Avenue in Somers Point. Please contact our non emergency line at 609-927-6161, thank you.”
