Greenville man arrested for triple homicide in Pitt County

PITT COUNTY, NC — The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Greenville man in connection with a triple homicide that occurred across multiple crime scenes on January 10, 2025.

David Lever, 55, of 1521 Forest Acres Drive, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of murder. He is currently being held without bond at the Pitt County Detention Center. Authorities indicated that additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Detectives began the investigation after discovering three adult victims with fatal gunshot wounds at separate locations. The victims have been identified as Anthony Gribble, 80, and Paula Gribble, 76, a married couple found at their home on 2137 Peace Ridge Court in Greenville, and Enrique Reyes, 64, found at 1458 Forest Acres Drive.

Investigators believe the incidents are connected, though the motive has not been disclosed. Lever was apprehended at one of the crime scenes following the collection of evidence and witness interviews.
