WASHINGTON, DC—The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert concerning raw ground beef products that may still be in consumer and food service freezers despite no longer being available for purchase. This alert was released on Saturday afternoon due to safety concerns.

The ground beef in question was produced on March 28, with a “Use/Freeze By” date of April 22 and a packaging date labeled as “032824.” The FSIS has not initiated a recall as the products are presumed purchased but is advising of potential risks.

These products are marked with the establishment number “EST. 960A” inside the USDA mark of inspection and were distributed to retail locations and food service institutions across the country. The FSIS has made available the list of affected products and their labels on their website for public reference.
