The internet is once again in meltdown mode over Grand Theft Auto VI. Over the weekend, a wave of unconfirmed leaks surfaced online claiming to reveal major story details, gameplay mechanics, and even a possible November 2026 release window — all following reports of an alleged boiler explosion at Rockstar Games’ offices.
Rockstar has made no public statement about the supposed incident or any connection to leaks, but that hasn’t stopped fans from scouring every detail that’s surfaced on Reddit, Discord, and X (formerly Twitter). Many of the claims appear to reference content that lines up with the tone and visuals from the game’s first official trailer.

Story: Bonnie & Clyde, Vice City style
According to the leaks, GTA VI’s narrative will unfold across five chapters, similar to Red Dead Redemption 2. The story reportedly centers on Lucia, described as the main protagonist, and Jason, a former soldier and her partner-in-crime.
Lucia allegedly begins her journey by abandoning her baby before a botched bank robbery that lands her in prison. Years later, Jason picks her up after her release, and the two fall in love — setting off a crime saga across Vice City and surrounding islands.

The leaks also reference a cast of secondary characters, including Jason’s friend Donnie and a crime boss named Brian, both of whom allegedly play roles in the game’s early chapters.
Gameplay: Dual control, 6-star chaos, and RDR2 realism
One of the most interesting supposed mechanics is a dual control system, allowing players to switch between Jason and Lucia — or control both simultaneously in select missions. Jason is said to have a “Dead Eye”-style targeting ability that slows time and highlights enemy weak points, while Lucia’s version offers a single precise shot.
Other gameplay details making the rounds include:
- A limited weapon system where items are stored in vehicle trunks
- The return of the 6-star wanted level
- Overhauled driving physics and cover mechanics
- 700+ explorable interiors and fully functional skyscrapers
- Greet and antagonize interactions similar to RDR2
- A relationship bar influencing dialogue and choices
If real, it sounds like Rockstar is blending GTA V’s chaos with RDR2’s immersion for the most dynamic open world in the franchise yet.
The world: Vice City and beyond
The leaks claim the map is made up of several islands — with Vice City as the centerpiece — and additional regions like Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and a “Fort”-inspired area rumored to house a gold vault. There’s also mention of explorable underwater areas, working elevators, shopping malls, and even a basketball minigame.
What didn’t make the cut

According to the same posts, some features were scrapped during development, including:
- Dual-wielding weapons
- Burglary mini-games
- Fully nude sex scenes
- Purchasable pets (though Jason reportedly has a pet iguana)
What’s real — and what’s not
Despite how detailed these leaks are, nothing here has been verified by Rockstar Games. The developer’s only official statements remain tied to the December 2023 trailer and Take-Two’s reaffirmed 2025 release window.
Claims about internal turmoil or staff terminations tied to these leaks have also not been confirmed by any credible source.
Still, with so much detail circulating, fans are debating whether these are genuine insider leaks or another elaborate fabrication timed to keep GTA VI in the headlines.
Whether true or not, the hype machine around Rockstar’s next big release is stronger than ever. And if even half of these leaks prove accurate, GTA VI could redefine what open-world games are capable of — both in scale and storytelling.
