Gunfire erupts on Belmont Avenue suspect flees into subway

Brooklyn, NY – Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly fired multiple shots in broad daylight outside a residential building on Belmont Avenue before escaping into a nearby subway station.

The incident occurred Monday, January 26, at approximately 11:44 a.m. in front of 849 Belmont Avenue, within the confines of the NYPD 75 Precinct.

According to authorities, an unidentified individual displayed a firearm and discharged it several times. No injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting.

After firing the weapon, the suspect fled the scene on foot and was last seen entering Shepherd Avenue Station.

NYPD seeks public’s help in reckless endangerment case

The case is being investigated as reckless endangerment. Detectives are canvassing the area for surveillance footage and witnesses who may have seen the suspect enter the subway station.

Police have not released a description of the individual.
