BRONX, NY – Police are searching for a suspect who opened fire on a man during an attempted robbery Sunday evening near Crotona Parkway and East 180th Street, leaving the 21-year-old victim with grazing wounds to the shoulder and neck.
According to the NYPD, the incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. when the victim was seated inside his vehicle in the vicinity of Crotona Parkway. An unidentified individual approached, displayed a firearm, and demanded the victim’s property. When the victim tried to drive off, the suspect fired, striking him before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. Detectives from the 48th Precinct are investigating and reviewing surveillance footage from the area as they work to identify the gunman.
