BRONX, N.Y. — A man and a woman were assaulted by a group of six individuals during a robbery on Saturday night inside a Bronx building, according to police.

The attack occurred at around 8:55 p.m. inside 2944 3rd Avenue. A 29-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were confronted by the group, who struck the man in the arm with a hammer and punched him in the face. The assailants then punched the woman multiple times and hit her in the face with a hammer before stealing property from her.

The individuals fled the scene on foot, police said. Emergency responders transported the woman to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where she was listed in stable condition. The man did not require hospitalization.

Authorities described the suspects as female but did not provide additional identifying information. The investigation is ongoing as police seek to locate the attackers.
