Harry W Kelley Bridge reopens to traffic ahead of schedule in Ocean City

Ocean City, MD – The Maryland State Highway Administration announced that the US 50 Harry W. Kelley Memorial Bridge has reopened to vehicle traffic earlier than planned, bringing relief to drivers and local businesses ahead of the coming storm. The reopening was confirmed by the Ocean City Police Department, which shared the update on social media Friday evening.

Crews completed critical repair and maintenance work ahead of schedule, allowing the key bridge connecting the mainland to the resort town to reopen before the weekend. Officials credited cooperative weather conditions and round-the-clock labor for the early completion.

Once the winter weather passes, daytime single-lane closures are expected to resume as workers continue the final stages of the improvement project. The full completion date is projected for March 20, pending favorable conditions.
