FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – A Department of Health inspector was allegedly attacked by an employee during an inspection at a Fort Walton Beach massage parlor, according to a statement from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.
The incident occurred around 12:28 p.m. on January 13 at the Palms of Emerald Coast Massage Parlor, located at 139 Beal Parkway SE, Suite 102. Police said the Department of Health employee was conducting a routine inspection when a female employee became upset, began yelling at the inspector, and attempted to force the inspector out of the business.
When officers arrived to detain the employee, police said she resisted arrest and began defecating toward officers in an attempt to evade them. The suspect, identified as Fang Wang, was taken into custody and charged with battery on a specified official, the release states.
According to police, the inspection was part of an ongoing investigation linked to a previous search warrant at the same address, which had also been associated with other establishments, including Blue Bay Massage & Spa, New Magnolia Spa, and Classy Spa.
The Fort Walton Beach Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit is continuing the investigation in coordination with the Florida Department of Health, the city’s Building Code Department, and Fort Walton Beach Fire.
