DUNKIRK, MD — A man with no fixed address was arrested Wednesday after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen vehicle that began in Calvert County and ended in a foot chase through a Washington, D.C. neighborhood.
Alexander Wade Foote, 28, is facing numerous charges after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop around 8:41 a.m. on April 16, according to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle, reported stolen, was spotted on Town Center Boulevard in Dunkirk when a deputy attempted to pull it over.
Authorities said Foote initially appeared to comply, but then sped off northbound on Route 4 into Prince George’s County. Deputies attempted a PIT maneuver to stop the truck, but the effort failed. During the chase, Foote reportedly rammed multiple police vehicles in an effort to evade capture.
The pursuit continued onto Suitland Parkway, where deputies managed to box in the truck near Naylor Road. Foote abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, scaling an embankment and entering a residential complex in the 2800 block of Shipley Terrace SE.

The Metropolitan Police Department assisted in the search for Foote, who was located and arrested in the housing complex shortly after the foot chase began. No injuries to officers or bystanders were reported during the pursuit and arrest.
Foote is charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Assault on a Police Officer, Reckless Endangerment, and several other traffic-related violations. His current custody status and court date have not yet been released.
