Homicide Investigation Underway After Fatal Shooting in Forestville

FORESTVILLE, MD – A homicide investigation is in progress following the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Diontre Mackall from Washington, DC. The incident occurred on the night of Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in the Forestville area.

Responding to a call at around 10:05 PM, officers arrived at a residence in the 3100 block of Lakehurst Avenue. They discovered Mackall inside the home with gunshot wounds, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening, and a third man received treatment for a graze wound at the location.

The Homicide Unit is actively seeking motives and attempting to identify any suspects involved. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.
