PHILADELPHIA, PA – A violent shootout at a South Philadelphia takeout restaurant left five men injured, with police now seeking public assistance to capture the suspects. The incident occurred at the Twin Dragon restaurant at the intersection of South 27th and Dickinson Streets in the Grays Ferry neighborhood on the evening of Monday, July 1, 2024.
According to Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, the exchange of gunfire began when at least two assailants started shooting into the restaurant shortly before 10:25 p.m. An individual inside the restaurant returned fire, escalating the violence. Remarkably, bullets narrowly missed a child and other patrons inside the establishment.
The victims, ranging in age from 21 to 45, sustained injuries predominantly to their legs, with one individual struck in the arm. Initial reports had mentioned only four victims, but the count was later updated to five.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group has described the suspects as three masked individuals clad in hooded sweatshirts and pants, armed with semi-automatic firearms. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this shooting to come forward to help in identifying and apprehending the suspects involved.
