Armed robbery reported on Georgia Avenue NW as MPD searches for four suspects

WASHINGTON, DC — Police are investigating an overnight armed robbery that occurred early Friday morning in the 4800 block of Georgia Avenue NW involving multiple suspects, at least two of whom were armed.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers from the Fourth District responded to the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m. on January 16, 2026. Four suspects are believed to be involved in the incident, and a detailed lookout has been issued.

The first suspect is described as a light-complexioned individual, approximately 5’9″ with a thin build, wearing a navy blue mask and armed with a black long gun.

The second suspect is a Black male wearing a black hoodie, blue gloves, and black and white Jordan sneakers. He has a medium build.

The third suspect is a Black male wearing a black and white hoodie, black pants, black shoes, a white mask, and blue gloves. He was reportedly armed with a black handgun featuring a brown handle.

The fourth suspect has not been described.

No injuries or additional information were immediately available. The investigation remains active.
