The Toms River North High School girls basketball team trailed by seven points after one quarter Monday but outscored visiting Toms River South 25-7 in the second quarter on its way to a 54-51 win over the Indians.

Brielle Bisogno led the Mariners with 19 points. Jenna Paul scored 16 points and Ashley Tutzauer added 10 for Toms River North.

Maria Gregorio scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Toms River South. Emily Donzanti scored 11 points and Nina Shirey added nine for the Indians.
