Investigation Underway After Murder-Suicide in Beltsville Home

Beltsville, MD** – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a domestic-related murder/suicide that occurred inside a Beltsville home. The deceased suspect has been identified as 78-year-old Ji Tu, and the victim as 72-year-old Li Tu, who were spouses.

The incident took place on May 9th, 2024, around 6:25 p.m., when officers responded to a welfare check on Stonehall Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered both the victim and suspect inside the home with gunshot wounds, later pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect shot the victim before taking his own life, with the motive still under investigation.
