Jackson township police launch instagram page to connect with community

JACKSON, N.J. — The Jackson Township Police Department has launched a new Instagram page to strengthen its connection with the community and showcase its officers’ involvement in local events and activities. Residents are invited to follow the page at @j ackson_police_department and share their photos with the department.

Lt. Fred Meabe, who spearheaded the initiative, said the concept had been in the works for some time and emphasized the importance of community participation. “Follow our Instagram page @Jackson_Police_Dept. This page will be primarily based to showcase our Community Relations engagement, whether it be at events, details, or just neighborly involvement,” Meabe said.

The department encourages residents to take candid photos with officers or selfies recognizing their efforts and tag the page for a potential feature. The goal is to create a positive and interactive platform for the community.

Meabe noted that the page would maintain a safe and respectful space, warning that any derogatory or inappropriate comments would result in removal and account restrictions.

In addition to Instagram, the department remains active on Facebook at @jacksonpolicedept, providing residents with multiple ways to engage with their local officers online.

This initiative seeks to bring the department closer to Jackson Township residents.
