Jackson Township to host public town hall on affordable housing plan Tuesday night

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Township officials are inviting residents to an evening town hall discussion on affordable housing, giving the community a chance to learn more about the township’s obligations and the plan recently approved by the planning board.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Council President Mordechai Burnstein will chair the session, which will include a presentation from the township’s affordable housing attorney Robin LaBue and planner Malvika Apte.

The event will take place in an informal setting designed to give residents the opportunity to ask questions, offer feedback, and better understand the affordable housing process and proposed ordinances.

Limited council attendance due to Sunshine Law

In compliance with the New Jersey Sunshine Law, only one other council member will attend the meeting at a time. Councilmen Bressi and Pollak have each confirmed their participation at different points during the event.

Town officials said the discussion aims to provide transparency on the township’s approach to meeting its state-mandated affordable housing requirements.

Residents encouraged to participate and ask questions

The session will include both a presentation and an open forum for residents to engage directly with township professionals.

Those unable to attend or with additional questions may email Council President Burnstein at mburnstein@jacksontwpnj.net.
