MANASQUAN, NJ – Jersey Mike’s Subs is heating up its 70th anniversary with a brand-new menu item that pays tribute to its roots while turning up the grill. The beloved New Jersey-born sandwich chain has launched Mike’s Hot Italian, its first-ever grilled Italian sub, now available for a limited time at more than 3,200 locations nationwide.

Loaded with chopped ham, salami, and pepperoni cooked to order and topped with melted provolone, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and the brand’s signature Chopped Pepper Relish—known to fans as “CPR”—Mike’s Hot Italian brings a fiery twist to a Jersey classic. The sub, priced at $8.95 for a regular size, is available in-store, online, and through the Jersey Mike’s app.

“This is our first Italian sub hot off the grill,” said Stacy Peterson, President and Chief Operating Officer of Jersey Mike’s. “Our fans told us they were hungry for it, so we created a bold new flavor that combines hot chopped Italian meats, melty cheese, and our signature CPR for a craveable experience.”

Founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, Jersey Mike’s has grown from a single Jersey Shore shop into one of America’s fastest-growing sandwich chains. The company is marking its 70th year not only with new flavors but also with continued national recognition, having recently ranked #1 on Entrepreneur’s 2026 Franchise 500 and #6 on Yelp’s 2025 Fastest Growing Brands list.

Jersey Mike’s maintains a strong presence in its home state, with locations along the Jersey Shore in Point Pleasant Beach, Belmar, Atlantic Highlands, Red Bank, Brick, Toms River, and Barnegat. For many locals, the new hot Italian sub adds another layer of nostalgia to a brand that began just miles from their hometowns.

Beyond its menu innovations, Jersey Mike’s remains known for its charitable efforts through its annual Month of Giving campaign, which in 2025 raised a record $30 million for local nonprofits. The company has contributed more than $143 million to over 200 charities nationwide since the program began in 2011.

As Jersey Mike’s marks seven decades of serving fresh-sliced and grilled subs, Mike’s Hot Italian stands out as both a nod to tradition and a bold new chapter for the iconic brand.
