TRENTON, NJ – With gas prices soaring at the pump across New Jersey, you might be wondering why? The same goes with food, energy costs and the rising rate of inflation across the board.

If you ask President Joe Biden, high prices at the fuel pump here in New Jersey are a direct result of Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine. So is the high cost of feeding your family. The high cost to power and warm your home.

It’s being dubbed, the “Putin Price Hike” and it has been affecting New Jersey residents for the past year, according to President Joe Biden.

The administration of President Joe Biden is taking advantage of an opportunity to blame the past year of inflation, food price increases, gas prices increases and cost of living increases on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Being dubbed the “Putin Price Hike”, the new political strategy shifts the blame of all of the errors made during the first year of the Biden administration from former President Donald J. Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Since taking office, Biden has presided over record inflation, soaring food prices and a 48% increase in gas prices.

Now, the President says, it’s “Russia, Russia, Russia”, a tried and tiring rally call from the Democrat party that has been going on for more than five years now.

“Today’s inflation report is a reminder that Americans‘ budgets are being stretched by price increases and families are starting to feel the impacts of Putin’s price hike,” Biden said blaming price increases over the past year on Russia’s two week old invasion of Ukraine. “A large contributor to inflation this month was an increase in gas and energy prices as markets reacted to Putin’s aggressive actions. As I have said from the start, there will be costs at home as we impose crippling sanctions in response to Putin’s unprovoked war, but Americans can know this: the costs we are imposing on Putin and his cronies are far more devastating than the costs we are facing.”

The Democrat party and the White House are already using the #PutinPriceHike on Twitter.

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, who served under Donald Trump says the new campaign is nothing more than gaslighting the American people.

“Team Biden is ‘gaslighting’ on gas prices with Putin Price Hike,” Spicer said.

But, Biden himself can be the only one to blame in America for soaring gas prices. Waging war on the oil industry was one of his campaign promises.

“No more subsidies for the fossil fuel industry! No more drilling on federal lands,” then-candidate Joe Biden said. “No more drilling, including offshore! No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period. [It] ends. Number one!”

Now, he’s pushing even harder to put more nails in the coffin of the oil industry to push his green agenda.

“Loosening environmental regulations won’t lower prices. But transforming our economy to run on electric vehicles, powered by clean energy, will mean that no one will have to worry about gas prices. It will mean tyrants like Putin won’t be able to use fossil fuels as a weapon,” Biden said, using the Putin invasion to bolster his campaign promise.

GasBuddy, a U.S. gas pump price index tracking website shows that gas prices have substantially increased for Americans under Joe Biden.

Last week, Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy asked Press Secretary if the #PutinPriceHike is an indication that the administration is going to blame Vladimir Putin for everything until the midterm elections.

“Are you guys just going to start blaming Putin for everything until the midterms?” Doocy asked Psaki.

“Well, we’ve seen the price of gas go up at least 75 cents since President Putin lined up troops on the border of Ukraine,” Psaki responded.

“And, last month, the statement didn’t mention the Putin price hike. It mentioned inflation because of the pandemic. Why is that,” Doocy countered.

“Well, Peter, last year — the last two years, there was a global pandemic. Everyone who’s — global economists have all agreed that that has been the biggest contributor to date of inflation because of the impact on the supply chain,” Psaki spun. “Obviously, global events impact the economy, the global economy, as well as global inflation. And the price hikes, as a result, that have escalated over the course of time of President Putin’s further invasion of the impact on the global oil markets are of course having an impact.”
