ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office has launched an investigation into a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at the Northwest Regional Police Department in Elizabethtown, according to a statement from the DA’s office.
The incident unfolded around 1:43 a.m., when a man arrived at the police station on Elizabethtown Road, reportedly armed with a handgun. Details regarding the circumstances of the encounter remain limited, and authorities have not disclosed the identity of the individual involved.
Lancaster County Detectives are overseeing the investigation, with District Attorney Heather Adams expected to review the findings to determine whether the use of lethal force was justified. “This investigation is in its initial stages and additional information will be released as appropriate,” the District Attorney’s Office stated.
