South Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a female pedestrian.
On Friday, January 21, 2022, at around 11:05 p.m., A driver in a dark vehicle, traveling northbound Vermont Avenue, struck a female in her 30’s while crossing westbound Vermont Avenue just north of 186th Street. The driver of the vehicle left the scene, failed to stop, identify himself/herself, or attempt to render aid.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the female pedestrian dead at scene. At this time the pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending notification until next-of-kin has been notified.
The vehicle is described as a black, early model medium size sedan.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
