The event, scheduled for April 24 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, was set to feature Trump, daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, as the special guest at the Legacy of Liberty fundraiser.

Ticket prices ranged from $1,000 to $250,000 per person.

The PAC did not say how much it was to pay Lara Trump for her appearance or divulge the cost to host the event at Trump’s Bedminster Golf Course.

A Fox News source told Mediaite that Lara Trump had already begun the process of withdrawing from the event when the report became public. Her involvement would have clashed with longstanding network rules restricting hosts from participating in campaign-related functions.

“President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law will headline a high-dollar fundraiser for a super PAC supporting Bill Spadea,” New Jersey Globe editor David Wildstein wrote before the withdrawal was confirmed.

The fundraiser was viewed as a potential signal of where the Trump family might land in the competitive June 10 Republican primary for New Jersey governor. Bill Spadea, a former talk show host, has positioned himself as a conservative challenger in the race.

Fox News has not issued a formal statement, and Trump has not commented publicly on the withdrawal.
