ASBURY PARK, NJ – A Friday night blaze drew a heavy response from firefighters after flames broke out on the 100 block of Ridge Avenue just before 9 p.m.

The Asbury Park Fire Department reported that units were dispatched at 8:42 p.m. on a box alarm for a working fire, bringing in automatic aid partners from surrounding communities. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure and began an aggressive interior attack to contain the blaze.

Firefighters remained on scene for several hours to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and to check for hotspots. The operation successfully prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring homes. No injuries were reported.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire and to assess the extent of the property damage. Officials have not yet released information about the occupants of the affected residence.
