Lincoln man arrested after hit and run in stolen delivery truck

November 26, 2024

LINCOLN, DEL. — A 32-year-old man from Lincoln is in custody after allegedly stealing a delivery truck, crashing it into a car at a red light, and fleeing the scene on foot on Saturday morning, police said.

Delaware State Police responded to a hit-and-run call around 9:29 a.m. on November 23 in the area of Dupont Boulevard and Johnson Road. Investigators determined that David Frasier had stolen an unoccupied Ford Econoline delivery truck while its driver was delivering a package on Johnson Road. Frasier then drove the truck westbound, colliding with a BMW stopped at a red light on Dupont Boulevard.

Police said Frasier fled the crash scene in the stolen truck, driving recklessly and spilling packages onto the roadway as he headed north on Dupont Boulevard. A short time later, he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect, which led officers from the Milford Police Department to locate and arrest Frasier without further incident.

The occupants of the BMW were not injured, according to authorities. Additional investigation confirmed Frasier as the suspect in the theft and the hit-and-run collision.

Frasier was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with multiple felonies, including four counts of reckless endangerment and theft of a motor vehicle, as well as numerous traffic offenses. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $42,506 cash bond.

Witnesses and quick police response led to the arrest of a man accused of reckless driving, theft, and endangerment.
