LOS ANGELES – Hector Valle, 48, and Efren Sanchez, 52, both from Long Beach, were arrested today, charged with operating a drug trafficking operation from a Gardena auto upholstery shop. The duo faces an 11-count indictment for distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine, and for firearm offenses.
Arrested earlier this morning, Valle and Sanchez are slated for arraignment later today in United States District Court in downtown Los Angeles. The charges include conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine and being felons in possession of firearms. Valle also faces additional charges related to cocaine distribution and possessing firearms during a drug trafficking crime.
United States Attorney Martin Estrada emphasized the danger of fentanyl trafficking, praising the FBI and Ventura County Sheriff’s Office for their role in removing these substances and firearms from the community.
The indictment, returned by a grand jury on July 17, alleges that on June 9, 2023, the accused sold substantial quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Searches at three locations led to the seizure of significant amounts of drugs, including over 31 pounds of fentanyl, and firearms.
The operation was allegedly run out of “Stitchn’ Time,” Valle’s business, where drugs were found hidden in a vending machine. Convictions on all charges could lead to life sentences for both defendants, with a mandatory minimum of 10 years.
