A busy Queens lottery stop is drawing fresh attention after a winning midday ticket sparked a wave of buzz
JACKSON HEIGHTS, N.Y. — A lucky TAKE 5 ticket sold at a Jackson Heights store during Thursday’s midday drawing turned an ordinary lottery run into the center of attention in Queens after one player matched all five numbers to claim a top prize.
The New York Lottery announced that one top-prize winning ticket was sold for the May 22 TAKE 5 MIDDAY drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at Bolla, located at 71-08 Northern Blvd. in Jackson Heights.
The ticket is worth $19,710.
TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. Drawings are televised twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Lottery officials said prizes from draw games may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.
The New York Lottery said it remains North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.6 billion during fiscal year 2024-2025 to support public schools across New York State.
