Police are searching for a suspect accused of pushing a 65-year-old man off a northbound 1 train at the 28 Street subway station before fleeing the scene.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual wanted in connection with an assault that occurred aboard a Manhattan subway train earlier this month.
According to investigators, the incident happened at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, while a northbound 1 train was stopped at the 28 Street subway station.
Victim pushed onto platform
Police said a 65-year-old man was onboard the train when an unidentified individual pushed him off the train and onto the station platform.
After the assault, the suspect fled on foot to parts unknown, authorities said. The victim’s condition was not immediately released.
Detectives seeking public’s help
The case remains under investigation as detectives work to identify and locate the individual responsible.
In a public alert, NYPD Crimestoppers said, “an unidentified individual pushed a 65-year-old male victim off the train and onto the platform.”
The agency added that the suspect “then fled the location on foot to parts unknown.”
