Teen Dragged Off Bronx Bus, Beaten and Robbed of Headphones; NYPD Searching for Five Suspects

Police are looking for five individuals accused of surrounding a teenage victim, pulling him off an MTA bus, and stealing his headphones in the Bronx.

The NYPD is seeking the public’s help in identifying five suspects wanted in connection with a robbery involving a 16-year-old boy aboard an MTA BX9 bus in the Bronx.

According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Friday, May 29, near the intersection of Webb Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road. Police said the teen was riding the bus when he was approached and surrounded by five unidentified individuals.

Victim pulled from bus

Authorities said the group forcibly removed the victim from the BX9 bus before assaulting him outside. The suspects allegedly punched the teenager in the face and stole his headphones.

After the robbery, the group fled on foot, traveling eastbound on West Kingsbridge Road, according to police.

NYPD asks public for help

Detectives are working to identify and locate the individuals involved. Police have not released descriptions of the suspects or provided additional information about the victim’s condition.

In a public appeal, NYPD Crimestoppers said the suspects “forcibly removed the victim from the bus, punched him in the face, and removed his headphones.”

The agency added that the individuals “then fled the location on foot, traveling eastbound on West Kingsbridge Road.”
