Woman shot multiple times and man wounded in hand after Baltimore gunfire

Two victims turned up at separate hospitals after a shooting on an East Baltimore block Monday evening, police said.

BALTIMORE, Md. — A woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a man shot in the hand arrived separately at area hospitals Monday night after gunfire erupted in Northeast Baltimore, according to police.

Officers were called to an area hospital at about 7:05 p.m. after a man walked in seeking treatment for an apparent gunshot wound to his hand.

Police said the man was listed in stable condition.

A short time later, a woman arrived at another area hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her body. She was also listed in stable condition.

Investigators determined that both victims had been in the 2000 block of East 32nd Street when they were shot.

Detectives from the Baltimore Police Department’s Northeast District Shooting unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

Police have not released information about a suspect or a possible motive.
