Man accused of attacking scooter rider arrested months later

Police say a man accused of assaulting a scooter rider and stealing the vehicle has now been arrested on a court-issued warrant

Washington, DC — A robbery investigation that began after a scooter rider was assaulted and robbed on a Northwest DC street has resulted in the arrest of a Maryland man nearly three months later, according to police.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. on March 31 in the 2000 block of 9th Street NW.

Investigators said the victim was riding a stand-up scooter when the suspect approached, assaulted the victim and stole the scooter before fleeing the area.

The Metropolitan Police Department identified the suspect as 19-year-old Troy Magoh of Fort Washington, Maryland.

On Tuesday, police announced that Magoh was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.

He has been charged with robbery involving force and violence.

Police did not release additional details regarding the circumstances of the assault or the condition of the victim.

The case remains under investigation.
