Police say officers quickly captured the suspect after an armed robbery on Minnesota Avenue.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Maryland man was arrested Tuesday after police say he robbed a person at gunpoint of a pair of sunglasses before officers quickly tracked him down in Northeast DC.
The robbery occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 30 in the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect approached the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s sunglasses before fleeing the scene.
Responding officers located and apprehended the suspect a short time later.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jemise Dezzou, of Bowie, Maryland.
Dezzou was arrested and charged with armed robbery (gun).
The charge is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
