Police say an armed suspect attacked a store clerk before stealing cash and fleeing the scene in the early morning hours.
CROFTON, Md. — Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who allegedly assaulted a 7-Eleven clerk before stealing money from the business during an overnight robbery in Crofton.
The robbery occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. Wednesday at the 7-Eleven in the 200 block of Davidsonville Road, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
Investigators said a man entered the store armed with a handgun, assaulted the clerk and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing.
Police have not released information about the clerk’s condition.
The suspect was described only as a male wearing a black mask.
Detectives assigned to the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Regional Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
