Man Assaulted Near Whitestone Expressway, Suspect at Large

QUEENS, N.Y. — A 68-year-old man was assaulted near the intersection of Whitestone Expressway and Third Avenue on Sunday afternoon, according to police reports.

Authorities said the incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. when an unidentified male approached the victim and initiated a verbal dispute. The altercation quickly escalated when the assailant punched the man in the face, causing him to fall.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack and has not been apprehended. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, light-colored shorts, and black sandals.

The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Methodist Hospital, where he is in stable condition. Police are continuing their search for the suspect.
