Man assaulted, robbed of chain in Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — A 62-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in the Bronx on Wednesday morning, police said. The incident took place at approximately 11:50 a.m. near the intersection of Elm Place and East 188th Street, where two unidentified individuals approached the victim.

The suspects repeatedly punched the man before stealing his neck chain. They then fled in separate directions.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police described the first suspect as a male with a dark complexion, wearing glasses, a multi-colored baseball cap, a dark green hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored shorts, black socks, dark green sneakers, and carrying a light-colored fanny pack. The second suspect, also described as a male with a dark complexion, was last seen wearing a blue face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a green bubble vest, multicolored sneakers, and carrying a black and yellow backpack.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
