Newark Police Request Help in Identifying Theft Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the theft of a jacket at a local fast food restaurant. The incident occurred on Sunday when the suspect allegedly took a North Face jacket belonging to another patron.

Police responded to a theft report at the McDonald’s located on the 100 block of Ferry Street. The victim was reported to have been eating breakfast at approximately 9:30 AM. Surveillance footage captured the suspect taking the jacket from an adjacent seat.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is urging anyone with information about the suspect to contact the police. The public can call the Police Division’s Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.
