An argument aboard a New York City subway train ended Wednesday night with one victim being slashed and stabbed with a butcher knife. The incident happened on the Northbound to train on New York’s Upper West Side, according to the New York City Police Department.

At around 11 p.m., the man was slashed and his leg and hand during an argument with another passenger on the train. After the stabbing in an identified woman pepper-sprayed the attacker. The suspect was able to flee the subway system after getting off the train at the 72nd Street Station.

Police have not released any information regarding the identity of a suspect and no arrests have been made. The man was treated with non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital.
