Man busted after double stabbing in jamaica plain, police say

BOSTON, MA — A Roxbury man was arrested Saturday afternoon after allegedly stabbing two people in Jamaica Plain, Boston Police said.

At around 2:57 p.m., officers assigned to District E-13 responded to a report of a stabbing at 7 Dixwell Street. Upon arrival, they found two victims suffering from stab wounds and immediately began providing medical aid. Both victims were later transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Officers track suspect to nearby street

Witnesses at the scene provided officers with a description of the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Yunelbis Hernandez-Abreu. Officers began a search of the surrounding area and found Hernandez-Abreu lying behind 17 Weld Avenue.

Police recovered a discarded sweatshirt containing a knife believed to be used in the stabbings. Hernandez-Abreu was immediately taken into custody without further incident.

Hernandez-Abreu faces two counts each of assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is also charged with trespassing and disturbing the peace, police said.

Authorities confirmed that Hernandez-Abreu will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, although a date and time have not yet been specified.

The victims’ identities and further details about their conditions have not been disclosed at this time.

The Boston Police Department has not indicated a motive for the attack, and the investigation remains ongoing.
