WASHINGTON, DC — A man lost his life in Northeast D.C. after he was shot this morning. The shooting happened at the 600 block of Hamlin Street, prompting an immediate response from DC Police at approximately 8:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the man in a critical condition, unconscious and not breathing. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

This incident has escalated the number of homicides in the District to 260, marking a somber milestone in the city’s ongoing struggle with violent crime. The identity of the victim has not been released, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover the circumstances leading to this fatal shooting.
