Man fatally shot outside Far Rockaway building, police investigating

FAR ROCKAWAY, NY – A 24-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday evening outside a residential building in Far Rockaway, prompting a homicide investigation by the NYPD.

Police said officers responded around 6:41 p.m. to reports of a shooting in front of 289 Beach 14th Street, within the 101st Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso and arm.

According to investigators, the victim was taken by private means to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His identity has not yet been released, pending family notification.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing.
