Man Found Inside Crashed Vehicle After Gunfire Rings Out in Raleigh

RALEIGH, NC – A fatal shooting incident in the King Charles neighborhood of east Raleigh is currently under investigation by local police. The event occurred early Saturday morning, around 1:55 a.m., near Highgate Place apartments.

Authorities were alerted to the situation after reports of gunfire near Milburnie Road. Following these reports, an additional witness described a vehicle crashing into a tree.

At the scene, police discovered a man inside the crashed vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The case is being treated as a homicide, yet no suspects have been apprehended at this time.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact Crimestoppers or the provided police hotline to assist with the ongoing investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
