Man found shot dead after multi-vehicle crash in East McKeesport

EAST MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A man was found dead from a gunshot wound following a multi-vehicle crash late Thursday night in East McKeesport, according to Allegheny County Police.

At approximately 11:48 p.m., county 9-1-1 received reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles in the 500 block of Pittsburgh Street near Park Avenue. When first responders arrived, they discovered a vehicle had struck several parked cars at the intersection of Pittsburgh Street and Walnut Alley.

Inside the crashed vehicle, officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit have launched an investigation. Early information indicates the shooting took place at the intersection of Park Avenue and Pittsburgh Street. The victim’s vehicle then traveled a short distance before crashing.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or any information on potential suspects.

Police continue homicide investigation in East McKeesport

The Allegheny County Police Department is reviewing surveillance footage from the area and speaking with witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the shooting and crash.

Investigators have not confirmed a motive or whether the victim was targeted. No arrests have been made at this time.
