Man shot dead on Harvard Drive in late-night Chesapeake homicide

CHESAPEAKE, VA – A man was fatally shot late Saturday night in a quiet residential neighborhood, prompting a homicide investigation by local police.

The shooting occurred around 10:44 p.m. in the 2600 block of Harvard Drive. First responders found the victim with a single gunshot wound.

He was transported to a hospital but did not survive his injuries.

Police have not released the victim’s identity or any suspect information as the investigation remains ongoing. Detectives canvassed the area overnight and are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward anonymously through the Crime Line or P3 Tips app.

Residents in the neighborhood reported hearing a single gunshot and said police remained on the scene for hours. Investigators have not said whether the victim lived in the area or what may have led to the shooting. No arrests have been made, and no motive has been announced.
