Man slashed in face on Bronx subway platform as suspect vanishes

Police are searching for the person who allegedly attacked a 24-year-old man with a sharp object at the Fordham Road subway station.

BRONX, N.Y. — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of slashing a man in the face on a Bronx subway platform before fleeing.

The assault occurred at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, on the southbound 4 train platform at the Fordham Road subway station, within the confines of the NYPD’s 52nd Precinct and Transit District 11.

According to police, a 24-year-old man was standing on the platform when an unidentified individual allegedly slashed him on the right side of his face with an unknown sharp object.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction before officers arrived.

Police have not released information on the victim’s condition or a description of the suspect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
