ROCKVILLE, MD – A 29-year-old man is recovering from multiple stab wounds after being attacked late Tuesday night during an attempted robbery on a walking path behind 2001 Twinbrook Parkway, according to Rockville City Police.
Officers were called to the area around 11:23 p.m. after the victim ran to a nearby business on the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road seeking help. Police said the man told investigators he was approached by three unknown Hispanic males who demanded his wallet. When he refused, the suspects assaulted him, inflicting several puncture wounds to his upper torso before fleeing the scene.
The victim managed to escape and get assistance from employees at the business, who contacted police and emergency personnel. He was taken to a local trauma center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is now listed in stable condition.
Detectives said the suspects had left the area before officers arrived, and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to contact Rockville City Police at 240-314-8938.
